ADDIE MODEL
ADDIE Model
The systematic process of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating learning resources and activities is known as instructional design. For successful learning to occur, instructional design strives for a learner-centered rather than the conventional teacher-centered approach to instruction. This implies that the learning outcomes, which were established following a careful examination of the learners' requirements, drive every aspect of the education.
The ADDIE model offers five universal course design principles: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. It features a handy checklist to ensure a sound course design, systematic design assistance, and a strong focus on implementation and evaluation. The drawbacks of ADDIE include a lack of diversity in the creative process, a rigid and linear paradigm, and a lack of inspiration.
ADDIE Model of
Instructional Design:
1.
Analysis:
The first step of the model consists of identifying the problem, goal and
collecting information to learn more about the learners’ and the organization’s
needs and expectations. This analysis will help the instructional designer
understand why the instruction is needed and drive the design and development
process.
2. Design: Once the analysis is complete, the instructional designer will select a learning strategy, define the learning objectives, create the storyboard, and select the appropriate delivery methods in order to develop a detail plan for the learning experience, content, activities, assessment and delivery methods.
3. Development: During the development phase, the instructional designer develops the course materials such as course content, assessment, multimedia element, incorporates them into the design and test and refine the materials to ensure they are effective and engaging.
4. Implementation: The e-learning content is released and delivered to the learners using selected delivery methods such as classroom instructruction, e- learning, blended learning. During this phase, it’s important to continuously monitor the impact of the e-learning content in order to provide support and guidance to learner as they progress through the learning experience.
5. Evaluation: In the final step of the ADDIE model, the instructional designer evaluates the impact of the course based on learner feedback, surveys, and course analytics, gather feedback to identify areas of improvement and make revisions as needed.
Significance of instructional design
i. it provide guidance for course design.
ii. Increase focus on a topic quickly
iii. It remove distractions.
iv. organize contents, to sequence instruction effectively
v. Assist and support learners
vi. Promote engaging, meaningful, and active learning.
vii. Helps to know where to start, what to do, when to communicate, and how to learn.
